Happy to slap a fine bench
Don’t sit here
Not for one second!
Or the sirens will scream
Descending by decree
No matter if you are weary
Or alone
Do not smile or laugh
In the park
God forgive you
If you sup a liquid
Hot or cold
Its now a crime
Do not enjoy
Your exercises
Don’t be bold
Do as you are
Told …
And go home quick
Turn your cheeks
But not on this bench !
For this is
Covid Britain
The virus
That came in from
The cold
